To all of those who have emailed me about the Burning Spear stuff that was removed from the blog, I was asked by Spear to remove any reference to him on this blog. For those who do not know, Spear has been in the fight of his life over alleged bootlegging of his officially released material, none of which I shared on this blog.
He asked and I complied. No questions asked. I am a lifelong fan of the artist, his music, and his message. It was Spear’s music that introduced me to reggae. While I was only trying to promote his music to new listeners, it’s rightfully his work and if he doesn’t want it shared here then I will comply with that request immediately.
I would like to make something really clear.
I DO NOT MAKE ANY PROFIT FROM THIS BLOG. EVER. NOT A PENNY.
This is a fan-site where I promote artists that I like. Most of the artists promoted here have given me permission to post their works. In fact, they send me stuff to post and give me a heads up when they need to promote something. I have even interviewed several of them.
Spear never gave such permission, which is why I have removed any post which references him or his music.
He was very respectful considering what he has been through and I never wanted to disrespect him in any way. I apologized and he was cool about it, which is most important to me as one of the hardest Spear fans in the world.
Please visit his website at www.burningspear.net and buy Spear merchandise only from his online store at http://burningspearstore.co/.
NO DESTROYER!
KEEP THE SPEAR BURNING!
Much respect to you and the Spear. As a relatively new, young fan of his, I greatly enjoyed the material you shared as well as different tidbits I found on the web. I wonder how he would feel about downloading some of his music from free file sharing sites explicitly for personal enjoyment and inspiration. He has produced such a wealth of fantastic music in his lifetime, but, as a young person, I just don’t have the funds to purchase all of his CD’s. I find myself questioning whether he’d prefer his music to be heard by a new fan such as myself, rather than to be unheard at all. Nevertheless, I have steadfast respect for the man, and consider his music a precious gift.
You can stream a lot of his music on spotify, though who knows if he sees anything from that. The man’s a legend who surely hasn’t made close to what he deserves for his work.
Thanks Rob! This is true. Also, he has his own radio station at 365Radio called ‘Burning Sound’.

Respect…for the Raver is this case, and keep up the Good work on promoting the message.
