For this week’s MIDNIGHT RAVER BLOG’S PICK OF THE WEEK I chose what is , in my opinion, the greatest roots reggae album ever recorded, ‘Legalize It’ – the 1977 solo debut of the great Peter Tosh. ‘Legalize It’ was re-released a few years ago as part of the Legacy Edition series with rare and unreleased versions of most of the original tracks. Definitely a must-have.
Interesting note about this classic album – Lee Jaffe, photographer and friend of the blog, photographed the legendary album cover and produced the album. I have included several of Jaffe’s photos from the album cover photo shoot. Jaffe’s ‘Legalize It’ photo exhibition opened today in L.A. and runs through October 6, 2012. Find out more HERE.
Another quality Peter Tosh performance from August 25, 1982, Denver, CO. Give thanks to blog contributor Dubwise Garage for sharing the lossless (FLAC) audio.
