Pick of the Week: ‘Kaya Dub’ by The Aggrovators

‘Kaya Dub’ consists of some seminal instrumental dubs using the backing tracks from Bob Marley’s Kaya album, produced by Bunny Lee and mixed by Prince Jammys in the mid 70’s. Musicians used on this album were The Aggrovators, a band assembled by Bunny Lee and included at one time or another some of Jamaicas finest musicians who later went on to make names for themselves in reggae. Legends such as Jackie Mittoo, Sly & Robbie, Tommy McCook, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Bobby Ellis, Winston Wright, Lloyd Parks, Earl Chinna Smith, Carlton Davis, and Ansel Collins. Heavyweight material…
“Instead of Upsetting, we will Aggrovate de tune…”
