You might be wondering why I’m posting so many press articles lately. Belive me when I tell you that, with regard to press articles, what I have posted on the blog since it’s launch is only the tip of the iceberg. Several of us, including myself, Fred ‘Reggaelover’ P, Timos Klingman, and Joe Jurgenson have been putting together a massive archive of historical press clippings, interviews, adverts, and the like. When all is said and done, we hope to have compiled the largest reggae digitized print article archive available on the web.
If anyone would like to make a contribution, we are always looking for items we don’t already have. Simply email what you have to email@example.com and we will include your submission and give you credit as a contributor.
This is the most detailed article I have come across with regard to the historic Reggae Sunsplash II festival, which was held at Jarrett Park, Montego Bay, Jamaica in July 1979. many of the performances are well documented on film in Stefan Paul’s Reggae Sunsplash II.
This article, simply titled ‘Jamaica’ was written by Chris Cioe and published in Musician, Player, and Listener on November 1, 1979.
