Pick of the Week: Peter Tosh Live and Dangerous (Boston, 1976)

One of my very favorite Tosh performances, and one of the best live reggae recordings I’ve ever heard, the intro jamdown clocks in at over 5:00 and is pure vibe and genius – the best opening to any Tosh show, period.  I assume that’s Al Anderson on the guitar solo?  Holy shit that is heavy.  This live recording was officially released in 2001 and has been a mainstay on my player ever since.

  1. I remember reading that there was actually one more song performed that night. The calypso/soca vibe that Ketchy Shuby takes on, is a testament to the musical genius of the guys performing. This album changed the way I viewed Peter Tosh.
A+ performance from start to finish.
