Time travel to the first of 2 radio programs mostly filled with brand-skanking new music from shortly before Bob Marley exited this plane. Includes selections from Studio One albums from Freddie McGregor & Johnny Osbourne, a few doses of “Happiness”… -for the first time since its original 1981 broadcast

Happiness

…Mikey Dread, Capital Letters, and Max Edwards. Phyllis Dillon and Martha Velez are also on board. From the Don Weir Music City sponsorship of the weekly KTIM Reggae Billboard we learn about Don’s latest music seminars with the Stars as well as who’s playing in the San Francisco Bay Area hotbed of live roots music: Leroy Smart’s bay area debut at The Stone on Broadway in SF for MD’s weekly DJ Tunetable Sound Storm Rhythm System (where The Wailers made their debut in 1973), The Titans in Burlingame at New Oasis & Berk. Square, Caribbean All Stars also at Berk. Square along with Harmonics that week, Rockers debut & The Harder They Come films double-billed at The York in SF, Contraband Tiempo at Ashkenaz, I World at La Pena, Session at Disco Wheels & Sports in Oakland, and 2 African bands Sunday at Ashkenaz in Berkeley. Some of these venues are still going strong in 2015. Live music needs I & I support more than ever these dread days. Time to start raving Midnighters!
