Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh live, Youth Consciousness Festival, December 25, 1982

At sunset on the evening of December 25, 1982, Bunny Wailer took the stage at Jamaica’s National Youth Consciousness Festival along with Sly and Robbie and the I-Three. Having lived in relative seclusion behind the iron-gated walls of his compound in the Washington Gardens section of Kingston since the release of his landmark debut album in six years earlier in 1976, the massive crowd was eager with anticipation, not knowing what the night would bring. What they ended up getting that night was the top performance of Bunny’s career, one that was topped off when reggae legends Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff joined him onstage for an encore.

This historic live performance was captured on the soundboard and Bunny released it as a live album titled Bunny Wailer ‎Live! on his own Solomonic label in 1983. The album contains only a small portion of the show.

Included here for your listening enjoyment is that live performance in its entirety!
