I’m usually not a fan of riddim compilations because the vast majority of them are poorly executed. However, Shiah Coore’s Lion Paw riddim compilation is a worthwhile listen. Shiah has constructed an undeniably enticing riddim that hits hard. He has called upon some of reggae’s most talented vocalists to shadowbox with the riddim, resulting in a tight set of eight tunes that do not disappoint. Chronixx brings the pain on “Out Deh” and Lutan Fyah follows with a brilliant performance on “Never Ever.” It’s a family affair as Kelissa and Keznamdi come with back-to-back bombtracks. However it is Zagga who comes through with the most impressive performance with “In The Ghetto.” Not a weak track in this set. I highly recommend the Lion Paw riddim compilation, out now on Shiah Records.
